General Hospital Spoilers: Will Finn And Gregory’s Story Mirror Sonny And Mike’s?

General Hospital Spoilers reveal fans are starting to question how authentic the current plotline revolving around Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) will be as time marches on.

Diagnosed with ALS, Gregory is battling a terminal illness that will erode his mind and body until he meets his somewhat untimely demise.

Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) has only just found out what his father has been struggling with for months in secrecy, and he’s not ready to say goodbye.

Moreover, he’s kicking himself for letting so much time pass before he rekindled a relationship with his old man. Sound familiar?

That’s because Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Mike Corbin (Max Gail) followed the same uncharted path just a few years ago, leading up to his death in September of 2020 due to Alzheimer’s Disease.

How might Gregory and Finn’s story be the same, and what are fans hoping will be different?

General Hospital Spoilers — More Of The Same

Finn is stunned to learn that his father has been dealing with his diagnosis much of the time on his own — before he brought Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) into his inner circle anyway.

Sonny was able to help his father from the beginning and that gave him great comfort. He was committed to seeing him through the last days, weeks, months, and years of his life — much the way Finn is feeling right now.

Sonny was also the only child remaining alive to care for his father. Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis) died several years prior.

Fortunately for Finn and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), they’ll have each other to get through this long after Gregory is gone.

That should give him some peace, but he’s still struggling to come to terms with what is going to happen to him and letting his family see him erode in that way.

GH Spoilers – Hint Elizabeth Baldwin Will Play A Critical Role — Again

When Mike was too far gone to keep at home and needed to be moved into a full-time care facility, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) was a key player in making sure he was comfortable there.

Sonny was happy to have her on board to assist their family during such a difficult time, and she provided much more than what one would expect from a nurse.

Her interest in making sure Sonny and his family understood what Mike was going through and how to help him went above and beyond protocol.

This time around, we can expect that Elizabeth is going to be far more than just a nurse to Gregory, Finn, Chase, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love), and everyone else connected to him.

General Hospital Spoilers — Will GH Stick With Reality?

Fans are hoping that GH writers are going to honor ALS victims and their families by having Gregory go through some very real experiences that mirror what ALS sufferers actually go through — as well as the struggles their loved ones face.

On the other hand, it wouldn’t be outside the boundaries of what Gh has done before to let Finn come up with a miracle cure, or suddenly find that Gregory was misdiagnosed with a curable virus that was mimicking ALS.

Since the problem with Gregory started have been wondering why writers may mirror the situation between Gregory/Finn with that of Mike/Sonny. One such incidence every 20 years is enough. No need for retelling the same type story line. Let’s hope Gregory has a misdiagnosis which could actually mirror reality. Gregory brings a certain maturity to canvas which is needed.
