General Hospital spoilers tease that Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) fell into a deep depression after the death of his father, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison). As a result, Finn started drinking. As an addict, this was a dangerous situation for Finn. He found himself spiraling out of control.

Finally, Finn’s friends and family convinced Finn to enter rehab where he will be for at least the next 90 days. But before he left, Finn said a tearful goodbye to his little girl, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). Violet will be in good hands with her uncle Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and his newlywed wife, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Violet will miss her father terribly and it seems impossible to imagine Finn staying away from her a moment longer than he has to. Of course, Easton’s fans are hoping Finn will return after the 90 days is up. But what does Easton have to say about a possible return?
According to recent interview, Easton felt a certain finality to his character. It felt to him a like a permanent goodbye. So unfortunately, that means it’s unlikely that Finn will be back on screen anytime soon.

If Finn does return it would be most likely a recast. But that seems unlikely unless the show just wanted to go in a completely different direction with the character. Finn’s future depends on how the show wants to handle Violet going forward.
Its possible Finn could show up offscreen and take Violet with him for a brand new start somewhere else. Finn has talked about returning to Doctors Without Borders and this may be the perfect opportunity for Finn to do just that and take Violet with him.

If Violet stays in Port Charles, that would likely mean something would happen to Finn to keep him away from his beloved daughter. Perhaps on his back home, Finn would be involved in an accident of some sort and pass away off screen.

It seems cruel to have Violet lost both her father and grandfather so close together, but that might be the only thing that makes sense if the show wants to keep Violet around.
That would also mean that Chase and Brook Lynn would have to step up as parents for good, rather than just for a temporary situation.

I don’t think he would take her with him if he rejoined Doctors Without Borders. He always wanted her to have a stable home life. However, he quit his job so if he were to find a new position, he might take her with him. DWB or him dying in an accident would open Violet up to trauma and heartbreak. Living with Chase and Brook Lynn could help and it could leave an opening to finding out what Victor did with her Mother.
