General Hospital spoilers tease Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) has been living the good life. She’s happy with the blended family she and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) have created. But all of that may come to a screeching halt soon. Sam’s sister, Molly Lansing Davis (Mia Holiday Kriegel), is going to need some help if she ever wants to become a mother.

There’s nothing Sam wants to see more for Molly and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) than for them to share the love of being parents. But that doesn’t mean asking Sam to be a surrogate and/or egg donor won’t be asking too much. Will she go out on that limb for her little sister? And will Dante support her in doing so? If this all sounds a little familiar, it’s because you might’ve seen this movie before.

Molly was recently diagnosed with severe endometriosis. Follow-up examinations proved that she would have little success with egg retrieval of any viable eggs — and that it’s not likely she will ever be able to carry her own child in her belly. Molly is still trying to process this news, but soon, she and TJ are going to talk about what the next step is. That includes an egg donor and surrogate — who do not necessarily need to be the same person, but it would be idyllic. Likewise, Molly would really like for the child to share some of her DNA – and that means one of her sisters would make the perfect option for a donor. But are they up for it?

Dante knows what this is like. When he and Lulu Falconeri (Emme Rylan) wanted to have a child, they needed to use a surrogate as well. But that process wasn’t exactly simple for Dante. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) became Lulu’s surrogate, but when she thought she miscarried their baby, she sought comfort in Daminen Spinelli‘s (Bradford Anderson) arms — for just one night. As it turns out, our mothers were right; one time is all it takes. Nine months later, Maxie and Spinelli‘s baby girl, Georgie Spinell (Lily Fisher), was born. The problem? she let Dante and Lulu think she was carrying their child all of that time. So, when Sam mentions Molly’s ask to Dante, he might not jump for joy, understandably.

This is going to be a tough call for Sam. She doesn’t want to leave Molly and TJ in the lurch, however, she has to think about her own relationship and family too. Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) just lost her father for the next three years. Danny Morgan (Zakary Risinger) already lost his father – permanently. Sam needs to be there for her own children right now instead of worrying about carrying someone else’s. However, that doesn’t mean she couldn’t donate her eggs to the cause if someone else was willing to be the surrogate.
