GH spoilers reveal that fans were stunned when there was word that deVry would no longer be playing Julian on the long-running soap. He had been the face of the character for seven years, which is quite a long time. However, all good things must come to an end. William deVry already has his plans all laid out and shared them when speaking with the Toronto Sun.

GH Spoilers – Moving To Canada

The actor told the publication that he is moving to Canada. He explained that before General Hospital, he would act in American shows that filmed in Canada. He was gone for nine months out of the year. Now, it’s just the opposite. He’s the one staying home in Los Angeles while Rebecca Staab is gone for nine months out of the year. deVry added that they have five dogs, so it’s a real disruption when they are filming all over, yet are never at home. He added, “We just felt the time was right to be together and move to Canada. Financially, we can always come back and buy a house if I get another series in Los Angeles, but nobody ever works here anymore. So why struggle to keep the whole operation afloat when moving to Canada is a much better solution?”

Even though the actor admitted it would be great to join his friends Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera, DOOL), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali, DOOL) or Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott, Y&R), neither show called. Plus, COVID has affected the business in L.A. So, now he is committed to doing primetime

GH Spoilers – Not Coming Back

Don’t expect deVry to move back to Los Angeles, either. He told the media outlet that once they sell the house and go to Canada, there is no coming back. He also feels that the entertainment industry has abandoned Los Angeles as everyone is going everywhere else for work. So, he really doesn’t see the point in sticking around.

“That option is always open, but right now, during COVID cutbacks it just doesn’t seem like a possibility in the time frame I’d like it to happen. So that being said, once I leave, I’m gone. Not coming back… The industry has abandoned Los Angeles; we’d be going all over for work. Why stay?”

It sounds like deVry has several reasons for his decision. We will miss seeing Julian on the ABC soap and wish him the best as he gets ready to relocate to Canada.
