Rumors suggest that Willow has cancer and it has been narrowed down to possibly Leukemia. General Hospital writers often concentrate on current events and with rulings against “Roe Vs Wade”, they are likely to concentrate on an abortion story. This indicates that the abortion could be deemed medically necessary.

Leukemia needs to be treated immediately or the life of the mother could be at great risk. Willow and Michael have just heard the baby’s heartbeat so Willow is at least eight weeks pregnant. Even if she could wait past the first trimester, she would have to wait at least a month to receive treatment. Could that be too long?

Even if Willow ends up having an abortion, the treatment may not cure her leukemia. If the treatment doesn’t work, doctors may need to go on a bone marrow search. A bone marrow transplant usually requires a large dose of chemo before the transplant is received. Chances are a fetus would not survive such a dosage of this medication. Willow’s doctors may require her to have an abortion before treatment. Could Willow have no choice but to have an abortion?

Willow will be stunned to learn that Nina is her mother. Willow may not even want to have the treatment to try and bring this baby into the world.
