General Hospital spoilers indicate that while the PCPD arrested Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) for Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) murder this week, fans know the duo is innocent.
In fact, Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) are far guiltier for Brennan’s demise, and they were the ones who buried him.
Still, did Brennan pass away by accidentally stumbling into the Metro Court pool that fateful night in August, or could Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) have purposely murdered him?
Let’s unpack this interesting theory below.
Key Takeaways
- Carly and Valentin are arrested for Brennan’s murder
- Ava and Drew covered up Brennan’s death and buried his body
- Brennan may have accidentally drowned in the Metro Court pool
- Willow’s unexpected appearance at the hotel raises questions
- A shocking theory suggests Willow may be Brennan’s real killer

Jack Brennan’s Final Day
General Hospital spoilers remind fans that before Brennan was found drowned in the Metro Court pool, he was having drinks with Ava.
Drew had advised Ava to slip some sleeping pills in Brennan’s bevy to ensure he stayed away from his hotel room as Drew was searching the place to find the blackmail evidence that the WSB Chief had on him.
The last viewers saw Brennan alive, he stumbled in the Metro Court elevator.
Then he was found drowned in the Metro Court pool.

Why Willow Tait?
As General Hospital audiences may recall, Brennan was really out of it thanks to those sleeping pills mixed in his drink.
When he got on the elevator, he ended up pushing a number of buttons to get to his floor.
There’s a good chance that he accidentally hit the pool floor, stumbled on the deck, and fell into the pool, drowning on his own.
However, this is the land of Port Charles, where nefarious actions rule.
One weird scene from the August 31 episode when Brennan was discovered drowned in the pool is the fact that Willow was at the Metro Court.
General Hospital fans may recall that Willow showed up at the Metro Court bar and started a conversation with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
It almost marked the beginning of their newfound friendship.
Willow confided in Britt about her feelings for her ex-husband, Harrison Chase (Joshua Swickard), and Britt tried to give Willow love advice.
It was a nice bonding moment for the two cousins, but is there more to this scene?
What was Willow doing at the Metro Court bar?
Willow’s Motive
Willow had motive to off Brennan, so was it premeditated or was it a “right place, right time” situation?
Willow is methodical, to say the least, so if she saw Brennan stumbling from afar, she may have decided to jump at the opportunity to off him.
Willow may have come across Brennan in the elevator drugged up and decided to drag him into the Metro Court pool, knowing that if she pushed him in, there would be no way for him to get out on his own.
Then again, Willow could’ve encountered Brennan at the pool.
He may have slipped in while she was there, and as he begged for help, she just sat there and watched him drown.
Of course, at this point, Willow is a veteran at murder and wanted to ensure she had a good alibi.
After watching Brennan pass away, she quickly headed up to a very public place to ensure she had an alibi.
This was probably the main reason she approached Britt in the first place.
Annemarie’s Take
Willow has already proven she’s capable of some pretty shocking things, but could she really be responsible for Brennan’s death, too?
Her appearance at the Metro Court that night is certainly suspicious, and I wouldn’t put anything past her at this point!
Is Willow behind Brennan’s murder?
