General Hospital Spoilers – Willow Tait’s Been Keeping Secrets
Willow’s been keeping secrets about her health from Michael, because she didn’t want to worry him until there was something to worry about. There was a chance, however small, that her symptoms, including her high white blood cell count was due to a vitamin deficiency or perhaps an infection easily treatable by antibiotics. But now she knows that her problem is very serious, and even life-threatening; it was caught early, but chemotherapy in the first trimester could cause a miscarriage.
Willow is faced with waiting until the second trimester to start chemotherapy, which could cause the cancer to spread. Or, she could start right away and risk her baby’s life, and now she knows she must include Michael in her medical decisions.
GH Spoilers – Time Is Of The Essence
Time is of the essence in Willow’s case, because her doctors are telling her she must start treatment immediately or she’s risking her life. There is also a chance that if she waits until the second trimester, or later, the cancer could even spread to the baby in her womb. Then both their lives would be at risk, and that wouldn’t be good either; Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) needs and deserves a living and healthy mother. Both she and Michael grieved a baby, one of whom is Wiley, who was really Michael’s baby Jonah Corinthos, switched with Willow’s baby Wiley Cooper-Jones (Grace Elizabeth Davis). Then Willow grieved her baby nearly two years later when the truth came out; she isn’t sure either her or Michael can go through that again.
General Hospital Spoilers – Michael Corinthos’ Despair
Willow finally tells Michael the truth and he is every bit as devastated as she knew he would be. It’s difficult to keep up a happy façade, especially in front of Wiley, although they know that they must. Willow signs papers so that Michael can be more involved in her health care and in her eventual treatment. Most difficult of all is her signing papers for Michael to receive her power of attorney for medical decisions, but with a condition that can deteriorate rapidly, it’s necessary.
Michael, as she expected, although he is upset about their baby and the effects the chemotherapy and other medications might have on him or her, doesn’t want to lose Willow. That would be much worse, and as she notes to him, there is Wiley’s upbringing and care to consider.
