General Hospital  – Cameron Mathison Has Some Health News

In 2019, Cameron Mathison underwent surgery after he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and the operation seemed to be a success. Within weeks, he was able to share that the doctors had gotten all the cancer and eight months later, his scans once again showed he was cancer-free. That didn’t mean cancer was still not at the forefront of his mind. Not long after his surgery, his mother was diagnosed with brain cancer, something she is still fighting today. But on October 12, Mathison had an update about his own cancer journey.

“I love this photo of my mom supporting me through my cancer journey back in 2019❤️. Four months later she would be diagnosed with Brain Cancer and she is still fighting hard,” Mathison wrote next to a snap of him and his mother when he was undergoing cancer treatment. “Seems fitting I’m in Florida visiting her when I got the news that my 2 year cancer check up came back totally clear🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. Thank you for all of the well wishes… I can’t tell you how much it means.

My doctor said ‘“whatever you’re doing it’s working because your kidney numbers are the best they’ve been!’ Now it’s your turn mom to beat the odds. I love you so much and I’m here for you, like you were for me.”

GH Spoilers – What’s Next For Mathison On General Hospital?

The former All My Children and Home and Family star seems like he’s settled in nicely at General Hospital and is enjoying bringing Drew Cain to life, although he does sometimes get in a few jokes about Drew’s beard on social media.

Now that Drew is roaming around Crete outside those prison walls doing Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) bidding and shooting at people like Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), he might be one step closer to getting back to Port Charles and his daughter, Scout. But first, he has to fight off Peter August, a man who seems to have more lives than most fans want. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this story plays out.
