General Hospital Star Marcus Coloma Dragged For Esme-Nik Twitter Comments

General Hospital fans were aghast last week when Esme Prince finally managed to do what her father, Ryan Chamberlain, told her to do and seduce Nikolas Cassadine. Perhaps actor Marcus Coloma should have looked at the initial Twitter reaction before tweeting his promotion of the older man and the teenager.

General Hospital Spoilers – Didn’t Score With Nik-Esme Sex Scene

There was something very disturbing about the sex scene involving Nikolas and his son’s teenage girlfriend that was more graphic than sex scenes on soaps have been in quite a while, complete with music that sounded like it belonged in a porn movie. Fans saw this plot twist coming a mile away but there was no reason to actually see it in the way that we did.

Perhaps this would have worked if Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) wasn’t a teenager who looks very much like a teenager. Yes, Esme is quite the vixen and definitely was no virgin. She is also quite obsessed with sex considering how she decided to get her revenge on Cameron Webber (Will Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but she is still a teenager, something duly noted by General Hospital fans once Coloma took to Twitter to ask fans what they thought.

Whether Coloma was expecting the reaction he got from GGH fans on Twitter or whether he was surprised, we might never know, but fans were definitely not shy telling him what they thought.

“Just curious, when we got the scripts we weren’t sure what the response would be, what did you guys think on the Nik/Esme scenes?” Coloma tweeted on Friday, June 3. The response was…not good.

Another was a little more analytical about it. “It was dudebro af and lacked proper emotional beats in the build up needed to make it make sense.”

On Saturday, June 4, Coloma went further when he asked, “So, how about that kiss, tho?”

One fan responded in another critical and analytical way, summing up what many were thinking, “Let me break this down. Some soap hookups are meant to turn your stomach by design. #Eik is that hookup. Just like Lisa Niles and Patrick or Obrecht and Faison. It doesn’t matter what the moves are. Just stop.”
