General Hospital  Spoilers – Nancy Lee Grahn Remains Outspoken

After the Roe decision was handed down by the Supreme Court at 10 am on Friday, June 24, 2022, Grahn was almost immediately on Twitter to say the following: “Our highest court and the Republican Party loves guns and hates women. The ONLY way to fight back is to overwhelm them in Nov without votes. It’s the only way.”

Grahn spent the rest of the day retweeting news articles and other tweets about the topic and then made her way to the Daytime Emmys where she was up for Outstanding Supporting Actress. While she lost to co-star Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) and wrote her a sweet congratulatory tweet, Grahn made quite a statement with her outfit.

“Last night I did my best to use my privileged spotlight to honor women’s right to dignity, choice & autonomy over their own bodies. We will never give in or surrender our country to extremists. Tattooed across her neckline were the word REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM, while her purse said “Bans off our Bodies”.

Grahn has never made her political thoughts a secret and has been an outspoken defender of Democracy

The Daytime Emmys itself got off with host Nichelle Turner commenting that her dress was her choice, with emphasis on the word choice as the women in the crowd cheered as they knew exactly what she meant.

As for General Hospital, it informed women of the importance of voting with its Election Day episode in 2020 in which Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) voted for the first time. In the story, Joss and Trina traveled back in town to when women’s suffrage first became real. It’s been a century of progress for American women and Grahn doesn’t want to see that progress taken away.

I stand with Nancy and so do the majority of women in our country. These men on the supreme court have forgotten that the wrath of women will reign down on them. We do not forget, we do not forgive and we will not move away from the topic of them controlling our bodies. We will march continuously until this stops. Shame on every single one of those men.
