Is This General Hospital Star Moving To Beyond The Gates?

Clearly, we are talking about General Hospital alum Kelly Monaco, who was once known for her role as Sam McCall on the hit ABC soap.

Kelly was on General Hospital for more than two decades before she was unceremoniously fired from the soap back in late 2024.

Her character was killed off, and while the writers have mentioned Sam on occasion here and there, there’s been no official announcement about bringing her back or having her recast with another actress.

As Kelly Monaco’s controversial General Hospital exit remains a sore spot for many fans, viewers continue hoping to see the actress return to daytime television.

That said, many soap fans were hoping that Kelly would somehow make the jump to another daytime television series, but that simply hasn’t happened.

Instead, she’s remained relatively quiet and under the radar since leaving Port Charles.

Well, that all changed this past week when Kelly announced that she’s going to have a special meet-and-greet with Days of Our Lives and former General Hospital star Greg Vaughan.

As Kelly Monaco prepares to reunite with Greg Vaughan at a special fan event, speculation about her next career move is heating up again.

Seeing how Greg currently plays Dr. Kial Rollins on Beyond the Gates, this has prompted some fans to wonder if Kelly is going to announce a new role on the show.

That, or could they simply be enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with fans and show off their chemistry in front of an audience?

Is Kelly Monaco Moving To Beyond The Gates?

Either way, this has many fans wondering what Kelly’s next step is going to be.

Now, whether or not Kelly Monaco is going to make the jump to Beyond the Gates remains to be seen, but so far the actress has not announced any new role on the CBS soap.

Of course, Greg Vaughan’s own move from General Hospital and Days of Our Lives to Beyond the Gates proves that soap veterans can find exciting new opportunities in Fairmont Crest.

Could Kelly be the next familiar face to join the cast?

There’s no confirmation that her upcoming event with Greg is connected to a casting decision, so fans will have to wait and see.

Either way, there’s no doubt that many fans would love to see Kelly back on the small screen, regardless of whether it’s in Port Charles or another daytime television show.

Watch this space, as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.

Annemarie’s Take

I would absolutely love to see Kelly Monaco back on daytime television! I still think General Hospital made a huge mistake letting her go, especially after she spent more than 20 years bringing Sam McCall to life.

And wouldn’t it be interesting if Beyond the Gates snapped her up? Greg Vaughan has already made the move, so it’s certainly fun to imagine Kelly joining him in Fairmont Crest.

Of course, a meet-and-greet doesn’t mean she’s been offered a role, but I hope she’s considering a soap comeback. I think her fans would welcome her with open arms!
