General Hospital spoilers confirm that Jason Morgan officially exited Port Charles during the Wednesday, March 25 episode.
Fans anticipate the henchman’s return sometime this summer, and the actor who portrays Jason recently provided some insight into how the hero may return.
That’s Awesome!
Burton talked about Jason’s exit and possible circumstances surrounding his return during the latest “That’s Awesome With Steve And Bradford,” a podcast he hosts with fellow GHer, Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli).
An interesting tidbit from that show was that Burton thought Jason might be airing scenes until April.
The actor noted he wasn’t sure when the GH actors/actresses get their scripts; there are multiple episodes in the package. He adds, “… the day of the show, at the time, said April 2nd. So, I thought maybe I was trickling into April.”
Anderson stated, “I remember you telling me, ‘The last thing I know of is that I get taken away in a van,’” which is when Burton nodded, adding, “… that’s it. We’re done.”
Jason Morgan’s Shocking Return
As of this writing, there’s no specific air date as to when Jason is returning; however, Burton has mentioned multiple times that he’s coming in the summer.
But how Jason returns remains a mystery since everyone closely connected to the WSB – mainly Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) – has noted now that Jason is “in” WSB custody, no one should expect to ever see him again.
After Jason was hauled away in a WSB van, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) asked Valentin how they could help save Jason. That may have been a hint as to how the henchman returns.
Jason Becomes A Fugitive
Burton states during the podcast that there’s a mutual respect between Valentin and Jason. He goes on to say that the two have had enough interactions where Jason knows what Valentin is capable of and vice versa. Burton notes, “ … then you put Carly in the mix, and then you’ve got ‘anti-Brennan’ also in the mix.”
With that said, is a WSB prison break the way to go? This just lands Jason in more danger, right?
Burton tells Anderson during the podcast that, “They’re setting me up to be a fugitive. But they’re also setting it up, I think, that there could be a resolution. Because they know I didn’t shoot Cullum, and that’s why I was arrested.”
With all that said, Burton also adds, “Whatever story they want to tell, there’s some good story to tell.”
