General Hospital Tequan Richmond Books Primetime Role – TJ Leaving Port Charles Or Recast?

It looks like this fan favorite is moving on up, or at least moving from daytime television to primetime instead. There are new reports that say General Hospital actor Tequan Richmond has just accepted a new exciting role in BET’s upcoming television reboot of Boomerang. So now his fans can’t help but wonder if this means that we will no longer be seeing him in Port Charles. Tequan is best known for his role as TJ Ashford.

Deadline reports that Tequan will be joining the new series as Jacqueline Boyer’s son Bryson. His character is described as a “a tough, clever and charming young man who was raised by his single mother. He’s very confident and isn’t afraid to show his softer side. Just like Simone, Bryson is looking to make a mark on the world.”

Just before the announcement was made, a casting call was placed for a character named “Terrace” on General Hospital. The listing said it was looking for a handsome, charming, smart African-American male in the 23-25 age range. Clearly, the producers are already looking for someone to replace Tequan in his role.

Right now Tequan has not made any comments about his future on General Hospital. There’s always the possibility that he might pull double duty on both shows, or simply drop down to recurring status. In addition, General Hospital producers have also kept rather quiet about Tequan’s future on the hit daytime television series, too.
