General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that Cameron Mathison, formerly Ryan Lavery on the original version of All My Children, could be coming to General Hospital to play Steven Lars Webber, now known as Steve Webber. This would be a very good thing because it’s about time that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) got some more family!
General Hospital Spoilers And Rumors – Steve Webber Is Elizabeth’s Half-Brother
General Hospital viewers will recall that Scott Baldwin (budiginer) was talking to Elizabeth in a recent General Hospital episode about possibly her father, Jeff Webber (Richard Dean Anderson), or her sister Sarah Webber (Sarah Laine) coming to help out, although Scott made himself available as well. Elizabeth told him Sarah was too busy with her medical practice out west and she didn’t get along that well with her father. Viewers will also recall that she has a half-sister, Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) on her father’s side in addition to Steve (originally played by Scott Reeves), also on her father’s side.
Ironically, since Steve’s mother is Heather Webber (Robin Mattsson) he is also Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) half-brother, on their mother’s side. Hayden disappeared – possibly permanently – several years ago and Steve went to prison for the murder of a patient who was an inmate, in a coma, and was a murderer, in order to get an organ to transplant into a fourteen-year-old girl. The murder happened prior to 2012 when he confessed it to his fiancée at the time, Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), and the Memphis, Tennessee police caught up to him. He did not fight the charges nor resist arrest even though Olivia wanted to complete their marriage before he went with them. However, since the trial did not play out at General Hospital and it has never been revealed how many years his prison term is, he could easily be released and return to Port Charles.
GH Spoilers And Rumors – Cameron Mathison’s Character Name And Airdates Have Not Been Revealed
General Hospital show runners have not released a whole lot of information about Cameron’s new General Hospital character or his airdate, or even when he starts filming. It can be assumed that he will begin filming once his current HGTV show “Home and Family” officially ends. He was one of its hosts for several years, and its finale will be on August 4, 2021. All Cameron has been able to reveal is that he will start filming at General Hospital in the summer and that he would also continue to make Hallmark movies. Even though he would make a great Steve Webber, there are some other possibilities as well.

All My Children viewers will recall that the Laverys of Pine Valley were distantly related to Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) and if he reprised his former role of Ryan Lavery, that would give him a connection, however distant, to the late Duke and his son Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen). There hasn’t been anything released to indicate that Griffin would be on his way back although he has made a guest appearance or two since he left General Hospital. Another possibility General Hospital fans have discussed is that he could be a recast Drew Cain (Billy Miller) although nothing has been leaked. Of course, Cameron could simply come to General Hospital as a whole new character! However, Elizabeth and her boys would likely welcome him as Steve or Drew. Fans will just have to wait for more news as it’s released!
