General Hospital Wild Speculation: Sonny With Lenny And Phyllis – Are They Taking Care Of Nelle Too?

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that since “Mike” also known as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is now in Pennsylvania with Lenny and Phyllis Caulfield (Rif Hutton, Juliette Jeffers) could Phyllis be taking care of Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) too?

General Hospital Spoilers – Phyllis Caulfield Was Nina Reeves’ Nurse

General Hospital viewers will remember that Phyllis was Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) nurse at Crighton-Clark, and she was also the nurse who was present at Nina’s daughter’s birth. Phyllis was the one that had the heart pendant split, leaving one half with Nina when she was in the coma, and sent the other half with baby Nelle, (Chloe Lanier) when she was tasked with taking her to her adoptive parents in Florida. Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) obviously took Nina’s half of the pendant, which Nina knew nothing of until after Madeline died and she received a box of her belongings from the prison.

In a recent episode of General Hospital, viewers learned that Phyllis and her husband Lenny own a bar in Pennsylvania, called the “Tan-O” where Phyllis brought an amnesiac Sonny (Maurice Benard) to meet her husband. Before doing so, however, she talked with Sonny at some length about other patients she had cared for who were in worse shape than him – one, Nina.

She did not tell Nina’s name but she told Sonny that she had been in a coma for twenty five years and was looking for her long lost daughter. Phyllis had recently talked to Nina in Port Charles, and it sounds like the two have kept in touch. Phyllis told Sonny that her patient was still looking for her daughter and had not yet found her, and then she made a statement “where there is life, there is hope!”

GH Spoilers – “Where There Is Life, There Is Hope” – Is That A Hint That Nelle Benson Is Alive?

General Hospital scriptwriters, as well as scriptwriters for other daytime dramas often foreshadow things to come in a storyline. Nelle’s “body”, if indeed it was Nelle, was found on the Pennsylvania side of the river from where she fell off a cliff supposedly to her death below. Sonny was in Seacacus, New Jersey when he disappeared. New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania do come to a point where all three states intersect when one looks at a map of the area.

Sonny must have travelled or washed down the river under the footbridge for quite a ways to come to an area close enough to Pennsylvania to be brought to a hospital there! When the body was found that supposedly was Nelle’s, Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) told the Corinthos family that her body had been positively identified – but he was going by the word of the Pennsylvania state troopers. He said he was going to the morgue to make sure it was Nelle, but it was never shown.

The next time viewers saw Chase, he was in a bar having a drink! It’s possible that he needed one after seeing a bloated, decomposed version of a woman he once had an affair with, but it still leaves the question of Nelle’s death hanging. Is it possible that Nelle, too was found in bad shape and maybe she, like Nina, has been in a coma? Maybe she killed someone and switched clothing and ID with her not knowing she had a head injury, perhaps an internal brain aneurysm which could have burst, leaving her in a coma.
