General Hospital’s Finola Hughes Hints At Anna’s Return To Port Charles

According to a new report from Daytime Confidential, General Hospital’s Finola Hughes is about to make a return to Port Charles, if her tweets are any indication. Hughes hinted at the return of both her character, Anna Devane, as well as the return of Anna’s posh fashion.

The image that Finola Hughes tweeted contained an image of Anna Devane’s wardrobe, including a black tank top and what looks like a blazer underneath. The image contained the caption, “#anna is back to fight crime @GeneralHospital #GH #allblackwardrobe stay tuned. Coming soon!”

The infamous ‘super spy’ has been a fan favorite ever since her debut on the show, and no doubt fans are excited to have her back. Ever since her absence on the show, Port Charles has been crawling with mobsters, kidnappings, and (a couple of) Jason Morgans. Plus, a return to high fashion and fancy spy wear is always a boon to any soap opera, especially one with as such aesthetically pleasing elements as General Hospital.

Finola Hughes herself has also been a fairly busy actress, although she is best known for General Hospital among the general public and especially the soap-watching fan base. Though she has starred on General Hospital from 1985 (one of the show’s longest actor runs), she has also starred in everything from Granite Flats to Beware the Batman, to Charmed and All My Children. She is also well known as an acclaimed theater actress, having starred in several productions on the West End.

It’s difficult to say how long her return stint on General Hospital will last, given Hughes’ extensive history on the show. Also given that General Hospital is struggling with drops in ratings from week to week, perhaps a return from one of the show’s most popular characters will give it the boost it needs. But it’s also very possible that Hughes’ Anna Devane is only returning for a brief stint or a multi-episode arc, and will leave again once that’s completed.
