General Hospital’s Nicholas Alexander Chavez left his role as Spencer Cassadine earlier this year. At the time, fans knew they would soon see Chavez on Netflix in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters: The Lyle and Eric Menendez Story. Netflix has just released the Monsters extended trailer in preparation for the premiere on September 19.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez Plays Killer, Lyle Menendez
General Hospital’s Chavez left the role of Spencer to play real-life killer Lyle Menendez. Lyle and his brother, Erik Menendez (Cooper Koch), were convicted of killing their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez in 1996. The killings, which took place in 1989 will be explored in Murphy’s new series.
Netflix offers some snippets of the trailer last month, however, this one is a three minute trailer.
The new trailer shows more of what the audience will see during the premiere of the series. The Trailer starts with Lyle and Erik entering their parents bedroom in their Beverly Hills home. Gunshots are heard along with a voice that tells the brothers, “I will need you to walk me through what happened.”
Lyle And Eric Menendez Admit The Truth
The voice is a therapist speaking to the Menendez brothers as they sit on a couch. The therapist tells the boys that this is about reconnecting and growing closer.
Lyle (Chavez) interrupt and states that the two of them killed their parents. Lyle believes this makes them very close. After all, they were together when they killed their parents.
Of course, fans can expect the trailer to have parts of the Menendez brother’s trial as well. It’s not like Lyle and Erick were making the most of their parents money before they were arrested.
There are also clips about the boys allegedly abusive father as well. This is followed by the killing of the mother and father in cold blood.
General Hospital Spoilers: Nicholas Chavez Was Successful On GH
Chavez’s career took off after he joined the cast of General Hospital. After winning a Daytime Emmy in 2022, Chavez was again nominated in 2023 as well.
Chavez confirmed in May 2024 that he had left GH for the foreseeable future. Chavez was last seen on our General Hospital screens in January when Spencer fell off a boat.
Fans will remember that this was when Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) caught up with Spencer and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) in France. Emse then drugged Spencer and both of the fell off the boat and into the Seine.
Neither Esme or Spencer’s body was ever found and both of them were presumed dead after the search turned up nothing.
Chavez can be seen in Murphy’s Grotesquerie when it premieres on FX on September 25.
Be sure to catch up on everything happening with GH right now. Come back here often for General Hospital spoilers, news, and updates.
