General Hospital Spoilers – Ingo Rademacher Sued ABC
After General Hospital’s Rademacher lost his job with ABC after 25 years of playing Jacks, he sued the network for his termination. Rademacher had applied for personal and religious exemptions to his termination. However, like his coworker, Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan), his applications were denied. Rademacher claims that the network had an attorney present at the meeting where his religious exemption was denied but he was denied the same courtesy. Would having an attorney there have made a difference in the ruling? Should actors have the same representation as the network in this situation?
GH Spoilers – Were Ingo Rademacher’s Rights Violated?
The suit against ABC filed by General Hospital’s Rademacher states that “When ABC decided to recognize exemptions to its vaccine mandate, it had to honor all of them, and Rademacher’s right to medical privacy also was violated.” Rademacher is not only asking for this mandate to be declared unconstitutional, but he wants compensatory damages as well. Rademacher’s court papers also state that ABC’s request covered in the subpoena does nothing to prove the network’s case or disprove Rademacher’s case. “ABC’s subpoena seeks confidential communications and attorney work product between Rademacher, his lawyer and “a speculated litigation funder,” all of which do nothing to prove the actor’s claims or the network’s defenses.”
General Hospital Spoilers – Ingo Rademacher’s Motion Will Be Heard On September 8
General Hospital cast member Rademacher’s motion will be heard on September 8. Rademacher admits to talking to PERK but assumed the conversations were confidential. Rademacher claims that where he obtained funding has no bearing on the case. Will the court agree with Rademacher’s claims and quash the subpoena. Rademacher’s lawsuit was filed in December 2021 and should be heard in spring 2023. However, this lawsuit may not guarantee that Rademacher gets his job back. ABC could very easily kill off Jacks instead of having Rademacher back on the set. However, although Rademacher doesn’t feel like he had much support from his coworkers, he could be paving the way for them to never have to worry about getting fired over this mandate
The outcome of this lawsuit could set the stage for other actors to claim exemptions based on religious reasons. Ingo fans are certainly anxious to see what happens with this case.
