Some soap opera fan favorites joined this year’s 88th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade. Just like the previous years, the parade would benefit Toys For Tots, which is a program that’s led by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Major Bill Hendricks came up with the Toys for Tots in 1947. It gives out toys to kids whose parents can’t afford to buy Christmas gifts for their young ones.
Some of the soap stars joined the parade include some past and present actors from “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of Our Lives,” “General Hospital,” and “The Young and the Restless.”
The Bold and the Beautiful
From “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Lorenzo Lamas, who used to play Hector Ramirez and Andrea Evans, formerly known as Tawny Moore will join the parade. For “Days of Our Lives,” Judi Evans (Adrienne Frantz), Patrika Darbo (Nancy Wesley), and Brody Hutzler (Patrick Lockhart), will also participate in the event.
For “General Hospital,” Jon Lindstrom (Kevin/Ryan Chamberlain), Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke Lavery), Leslie Charleson (Monica Quartermaine), and Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin) will be the representatives while Kate Linder (Esther Valentine), Sean Carrigan (ex-Stitch Rayburn), and Daniel Goddard (ex-Cane Ashby) from “The Young and the Restless” will also join the fun.
Kin Shriner joked that he rode “security detail” during the event while Lindstrom joined in the fun and tweeted “I can tell you, I felt so much safer with @kinshriner riding shotgun thru that Uber-dangerous situation.”
The Grand Marshals were “The Bold and the Beautiful” alum Mario Lopez and his family. Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain, Montel Williams, Elizabeth Stanton and Garrett Clayton also served as co-hosts. Meanwhile, Laura McKenzie, Erik Estrada, Dean Cain of “Lois & Clark”, and Montel Williams of “Guiding Light” hosted the parade.
Soap opera stars weren’t the only ones who attended the parade. Other celebrities also participated. There were musical performances from Bret Michaels, who’s known as the lead singer of the band called Poison. Other artists who performed were Shawn Wayans and The Boo Crew, Dionne Warwick, Band of MerryMakers, Jesse & Joy, Farrell Dillon, Brandon Jenner, AshenMoon, Mikalah Gordon, Brandon Rogers, Mai Wynn, Shelea, James Maslow, Phil Vassar, Ace Young and Diana and David Archuleta.
Additionally, well-known vehicles from famous TV series and movies were featured. These include cars from “Batman,” “Back to the Future,” “Knight Rider,” “Dukes of Hazzard,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Green Hornet,” to name a few. And, of course, Santa Claus joined in all the fun!
