General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal there have been more than a few All My Children (AMC) references on the soap as of late.
One that occurred this week has fans buzzing, so are these all just fun Easter eggs for viewers to gobble up, or is there more to this?
The AMC Easter Eggs
The AMC references in Port Charles date back to 2023 when Walt Willey reprised his AMC character, Jackson Montgomery on the soap in August of that year.
In 2024, GH viewers heard AMC’s iconic character, Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) name dropped multiple times, and more recently, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) reminded fans of his former, AMC character as he was scrummaging through his old house, looking for documentation, when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) stopped him in his tracks.
Sonny now owns Valentin’s house and everything in it. Thankfully the on-the-run criminal squirmed his way out of the sticky situation; however, he’s living on borrowed time at this point.
Regardless, when Valentin was rummaging through old papers, he stumbled across some old (fake) passports.
One for him, under the name Will Cortlandt, and one for Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez), under the name Melanie Cortlandt. Will was Valentin’s AMC character, while Melanie was Will’s sister, played by Paige Turco.
Is ABC Testing The Waters?
General Hospital fans have been buzzing with the AMC references, and it’s hard not to speculate as to whether this is being done in fun, or to test the waters.
After all, with Beyond the Gates recently debuting on CBS’s daytime drama lineup, the idea that soaps may be making a comeback is a real thing.
Rather than come up with a new concept, ABC producers could see the value in building from an existing foundation. So many audiences miss the land of Pine Valley and All My Children, so could a reboot be an idea for the future?
With all the recent AMC references on General Hospital, is ABC teasing a reboot? Would you love to see the soap return? Share your thoughts below!

As the ABC soaps are the only ones I ever watched, I would be happy to see AMC and OLTL return to programming. But, only if the writing staff is much better in story telling than those GH have hired. ABC doesn’t need two additional soaps that may become defunct before they are even resurrected.
YOUR 100% RIGHT, but I’m some what confused in how they would do it?? First GH has to start to close out some of the OLD STORYLINES before they could add into more storylines!! I just saw another New Actor will be added into the Drew Storyline, lets just get RID of DREW or have PORTIA & AVA’S way of doing it by setting Drew up as the One who Murdered CYRUS!! RIGHT NOW I’m at the 98% mark in Not Watching GH, there are WAY TO MANY STORYLINES, and the Writers Keep ADDING MORE!! When Brennan convinced Joss to be an WSB AGENT that’s when I said NOPE I’m Not Watching Anymore!! YET here I am, but not for long now that I hear all these Rumor’s, and more Actors added to GH!! Right Now there are to Many Actors, nothing getting anywhere with storylines being solved!! Sorry so long, and I’m all over the place just like the WRITERS so I’ll end my comment!!!!!!!!!!
