Is Sofia Mattsson ‘Done’ With General Hospital – Actress Gives Fans An Update

General Hospital (GH) spoilers imply it may only be a matter of days since Sash Gilmore and little Daisy Gilmore (Brenden & Evelyn Beimford) left Port Charles, but there’s a hole in many people’s hearts with their absence, especially fans of the ABC soap!

The actress, Sofia Mattsson, recently sat down to chat with TV Insider, and while Sasha may be gone from the little town, this does not mean forever.

All About Sasha …

When Mattsson snagged the role in 2018, she thought it was going to be a short run; however, seven years later, Sasha became an integral part of the canvas and storylines.

She further grew roots in the little town when it was revealed in 2024 that Sasha’s biological mom was Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and her bio father was none other than the iconic superspy, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers).

Mattsson told TV Insider that, “I definitely felt like I understood Sasha better than ever after the revelation of her parents.” With that said, she also stated, “I feel like I learned something new every day until the end!”

What Does The Future Hold For Sofia Mattsson?

Mattsson goes on to say that she has some ‘exciting new projects’ on the horizon and hopes to see fans via ‘another screen soon’.

She also didn’t rule out returning to the land of soaps, stating that she believes being on a daytime drama is one of the best jobs someone can have as an actress.

A GH representative also opened a window of hope for a Sasha return, noting that Mattsson’s exit was established so she could work on other things, but also opens a door for a future return.

They added that Mattsson and Executive Producer Frank Valentini have become great friends, and noted that, “We will miss her, but we wish her the best in all of her future endeavors.”
