By now, most General Hospital fans know that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) was used to allegedly scam an old lady out of her savings and a house. Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), previously warned fans about the scam, but now the two ABC stars addressed it again.

Talking About The Scams

On Facebook this weekend, Steve and Bradford got together to talk about whether Jason shot Drew Cain, (Cameron Mathison) on the show. However, they also talked about the scam. There, ABC fans talked about the mystery shooting of Cain, rather more than the scam. However, when Bradford shared a clip on Instagram on Monday, there was more engagement.

In the Instagram clip, which focused on “Fake Wedding Scams: How to Protect Yourself & Others,” it seemed reminiscent of the original warning that Bradford Anderson shared back in April of 2024. At the time, the real-life Damian Spinelli warned folks to watch out for scams and gave some advice to his GH followers.

Notably, he’s been campaigning against it for ages. However, the woman who ended up scammed because she believed Steve fell in love with her and wanted to marry her, clearly missed the memo.

Steve Seemed Shocked

In their conversation about the scam, the Jason Morgan actor seemed shocked because the victim was so convinced that although she was married, she believed he wanted to marry her. He said, “I’m not going to be asking you for money.” He also talked about how he’s never going to “promote a fake wedding.”

Clearly angry with the scammers, Steve Burton asked, “What’s happening here?” He also told his General Hospital fans that he feels “bad,” because “these guys who are doing this are responsible.” He seemed so upset, calling them “people in a boiler room or wherever.” Whether they are divorced, separated, widowed, or hoping for something else, fans should never think it would come from the cast of the daytime drama.

Fans React in the Comments Section

In the comments section, many people felt glad that the two men addressed the scam. And nobody’s blaming Steve for it. One of them wrote, “Thanks for sharing. Steve and Bradford! If it. Doesn’t have the blue Checkmark! It’s not the Real person! I don’t. Accept any. Requests! Be careful to. All.”

Here are a few more reactions from the discussion area:

  • Before I went to the Tulsa show they tried to get me but I knew right away so I reported and shut them down it’s just really sick that people are doing that to fans.
  • So awful. Steve, you and Bradford go above & beyond trying to warn people. You do your best. XO.
