The Biggest Soap Headlines This Week: Massive Comebacks, GH & Days Actors Explain Exits, Two Stars Apologize To Fans

It’s been a huge week in the land of soap operas, not only in front of the camera but behind the scenes, too. Time to look through some of the biggest daytime drama news stories from the past week.

General Hospital Spoilers – Two Major Days Comebacks

Hold on to your hats, Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) fans, because there are two massive returns on the horizon. Soap veteran and Another World alum, Stephen Schnetzer will reprise his 1970s role on the show, returning as Steve Olson, Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) brother.

He didn’t offer too many details during his appearance on The Locher Room when he talked about his DOOL return; however, it seems as if his comeback could be linked to the tribute the soap is planning for the late and great Bill Hayes (Doug Williams).

In addition, Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) also announced during an appearance on The Locher Room that Gloria Loring would also be returning to the soap, reprising her fan-favorite 1980s role, as Liz Chandler.

GH Spoilers’s – Ryan Paevey Explains Why He Left The Soap

Meanwhile, it’s been a hot minute since the General Hospital (GH) star left the show, but this past week, actor Ryan Paevey, who played Nathan West, explained why he left the soap, during an X/Twitter conversation with another former GH alum, Nicolas J Bechtel (ex-Spencer Cassadine).

Ryan notes that fan hate on X/Twitter was a reason he exited, stating, “It’s why I bowed out years ago. Soap Twitter was one of the most caustic online environments I’ve ever experienced…droves of armchair judges with no ability or experience standing in judgment of people out there working hard to entertain. Don’t miss it at all.”

Still, one exit fans DON’T have to worry about is Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain). While he did announce a new gig, playing the host of a new game show Beat The Bridge on the Game Show Network, he assured fans in an interview with TV Insider he’s “not going anywhere” as he shot the shows last year.

General Hospital Spoilers – Why Days Jamie Martin Mann Left Soap

Over to DOOL actor Jamie Martin Mann (ex-Tate Black), his final episodes on the soap were last week. During a Soap Opera Digest (SOD) interview.

Mann explains that the commute was too much for him, and he decided to focus on his university studies rather than acting. Actor Leo Howard has been recast in the role.

GH Spoilers – Two Soap Stars Apologize To Fans

DOOL’s Jessica Serfaty took a page out of the book of her character, Sloan Petersen-Brady by landing in hot water last week. Fans know she’s engaged to Leonardo Del Vecchio.

However, she got followers buzzing when she posted photos on social media of what looked like a wedding in India for her and her fiancé. It was an April Fools Day prank, and thankfully most Days viewers weren’t all that mad.

Meanwhile, GH’s Josh Kelly (Cody Bell) was also apologizing to fans, but for a very different reason. Viewers have seen him shirtless quite a few times lately, and during an interview with Soaps.com, he states he feels bad for not getting into shape back in 2022 when he was first cast in the role.

In the early days, he felt like he was a “good enough” person that he didn’t need a six-pack, but lately, he’s felt as if he’s let the genre down because he was complacent.

The actor is obviously joking, and most fans would agree, there’s no need for Josh to say sorry at all!
