Wes Ramsey whose wicked character, Peter, was the one to pull the trigger that took the life of Elizabeth’s husband, apparently took the plot twist harder than most.
General Hospital Spoilers – Wes Ramsey Must ‘Dig Deep’ To Portray Peter August
According to Soap Opera Digest, the General Hospital villain not only apologized to fellow castmate Roger Hayworth, he said he apologized “profusely.”
Directing his comment to fans the actor says, “We don’t choose what our characters do or don’t do” adding that those decisions are made for the actors, and they have to tell the story the way its scripted.
Though Ramsey is clearly a sweetheart in reality, the actor has no qualms with playing pure evil when it’s required of him and fans know, it’s been called for quite a bit with Peter August.
“If you dig deep enough, you can always discover that small spark you need for yourself,” he said, adding that, with spark, “you can burn a whole forest down.”
‘It’s a Gift and a Privilege to Be Able to Do What We Do’
Actors know that, in order to play evil, they have to tap into a dark part of themselves and it can be a drain on the emotions.
We discover that Ramsey is no exception the actor agrees but adds that “it is a gift and a privilege … to be able to do what we do.”
The actor made sure to let folks know that he’s okay with it because, when the day is over, he gets to go home to a “beautiful and compassionate partner,” speaking of Laura Wright who plays Carly Corinthos on General Hospital.
The actor adds that their puppy Kimba helps too and, with a face like, that how could anyone possibly disagree with that sentiment?
We know that Wes Ramsey is a nice guy in reality but playing the part of evil takes its toll and we all hope it never changes Wes Ramsey the person.
Fans of General Hospital can catch new episodes of the show Monday through Friday at 1 PM Central on ABC.
