General Hospital’s Gossett got his start in New York, he is from the Bronx. However, in 1988 went to Los Angeles where he starred in a production of Fences with James Earl Jones (ex-Jim Guiding Light) and Courtney Vance and decided to stay there. Gossett worked mostly in primetime but he had short roles in Passions and Y&R. Gossett says they were gigs but nothing like what he is doing now. Gossett likes going to a nice studio with a couch and a television instead.

General Hospital star Gossett says his road to getting the role on G.H. started a few months ago. Gossett says his agent called the casting director, Mark Teschner, to see if there was a role for him on the show. A couple of months later Gossett got a call to come and read with Curtis. Gossett says he did the reading and was told her was hired. Gossett says he’s having a great time at GH. Gossett says having this job is a blessing. Gossett says one of the best things is being able to wake up in his bed every morning and return home every night. He says he doesn’t have to be taken to a little trailer with a small bathroom.

General Hospital Spoilers – Robert Gossett Finds This Really Cool
General Hospital spoilers say Gossett says that what he is doing script-wise is really cool. Gossett says that they are given a character and told to create them. Gossett loves that daytime does not have time to micromanage because it is too fast-paced.
Gossett also loves how his character is being handled. Gossett loves the mystery and how his character is getting to know others. Gossett admits to being shocked on the first day at G.H. He remembers wondering what he had gotten himself into. Gossett says the speed was rattling and there is a learning curve. However, he says he quickly adapted. Gossett admits that he now feels like he has been on the show for 20 years.
