Who Was Connie Falconeri On General Hospital?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show has mentioned the late Constanza “Connie” Falconeri recently, leading some fans to wonder who she was.

Connie was once Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) girlfriend back in the day when they were kids in Bensonhurst. But as adults their lives changed dramatically and their story is full of twists and turns!

As teens, they dreamed of getting married, but Connie left him and hit the big time as a fashionista, changing her name along the way to Kate Howard.

The character came to Port Charles in 2007 (the role was originally played by Megan Ward, in 2011 Kelly Sullivan took over).

The plot took quite a turn when it was revealed that Kate later remembered that she left Sonny because mobster Joe Scully Jr. (Richard Steinmetz) raped her, she got pregnant, and then abandoned the child.

The trauma led her to reinvent herself and did not realize that her personality split into an alter ego who eventually caused chaos in Port Charles.

Long story short, when Sonny and Connie reunited he said he would leave the mob for her but on their wedding day one of Sonny’s enemies shot Kate who survived. Sonny later slept with his ex-wife Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), and Kate left him.

Eventually Kate Howard was dumbfounded to find herself wearing her bloody wedding dress on the docks. A psychiatrist, Dr. Ewan Keenen (Nathin Butler), saw her and suggested she had Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). In therapy her alter ego Connie emerged.

Connie secretly worked with Sonny’s enemy, mobster Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash), to break him and Kate up. When Johnny and Connie had sex, Kate emerged and asked Ewen for help.

While he did paperwork to have her committed Connie came out and knocked him unconscious. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) went after Connie, Kate came out, and she told Sonny about her DID.

GH Spoilers – A Blast From the Past

Sonny suggested they try getting married again but at the ceremony Connie emerged claiming that she and Johnny Zacchara were married.

Her abandoned son, Trey Mitchell (Erik Valdez), later popped up with Sonny’s daughter, Kristina Davis (then Lexi Ainsworth, now Kate Mansi).

Later, a car accident left Trey brain-dead, and Connie chose to take him off life support, resulting in his death.

General Hospital Spoilers – A Complicated Port Charles Story

When Connie and Sonny had sex, Kate took over and was furious at Sonny for sleeping with her alter. Kate was sent to Shadybrook, her two personalities merged, and she then chose to go by her birth name, Connie.

Later Connie discovered that Crimson magazine was run by mobster Julian Jerome (William deVry) but Ava Jerome (Maura West) killed Connie before she could warn Sonny.

Connie wrote the letters “AJ” with her blood and Sonny mistakenly killed AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) to avenge her death.

Sonny then tried to kill Ava but Connie’s ghost told him not to do it. Years later, Connie haunted Ava in a nightmare. What do you think GH fans, are we about to see Connie once again, in some form, either dead, alive or as a spirit?
