General Hospital spoilers reveal things picking up in Port Charles and beyond now that the albatross that was Peter August is no longer hanging from the soap’s neck.
General Hospital Spoilers – Soap Opera Eaten Alive By Cartoon Villain
For nearly four years, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) almost ate General Hospital and for the last year he was on the canvas, it felt like he destroyed it. The soap was painful to watch as everyone said his name and was consumed with finding him. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was so frightened of this menacing fool that she hid her baby in plain sight for nearly a year.
And with each passing day, Peter became more and more ridiculous and less and less menacing. And it was his ridiculousness that made him less menacing. Instead, he was a joke and turned other characters into a joke.
Medical professionals Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) couldn’t even tell the man wasn’t dead, and he kept escaping death as he looked like he would start twirling an invisible mustache. From shootings and poisonings to jumps off cliffs, nothing could seem to kill Peter — except for Felicia Scorpio’s (Kristina Wagner) tire iron. And so that was the end of this long, long nightmare. Now, the sun seems to be out.
GH Spoilers – Sees New Life
It’s like everything has come alive in Port Charles since Peter died at the end of February. Maxie is acting like herself again, people have stopped mentioning his name so often, fans don’t have to worry he’ll show up at any moment and ruin a scene, and other stories that have been left at the wayside for months are finally moving again now that all the airtime isn’t being sucked up by this horrible character.

Even Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is acting more like Anna again after she had to think about the fact that Peter might have been her son with the horror that was Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). This is how General Hospital and our favorite superspy are supposed to act and it’s about time we are finally seeing it. Mission complete, and Felicia and Anna did it together. In my opinion why GH is better off without Peter August on canvas is a question that doesn't even need exploring or answering. Many viewers will agree Peter brought so much doom/gloom to canvas that it almost made GH unbearable to watch at times as he got away with all of his misdeeds. But, WR did play the role of very good, but not liked villain by many viewers.
I have not been happy that Peter is gone. I believe that Peter could have been put on the road to redemption somehow. I hope that Wes Ramsey could get a chance to come back to GH and get another part to play in the future.
