General Hospital Spoilers – Shocked Lante Fans
Lulu Spencer Falconeri had gone way too long waiting for her husband to return to her and fought tooth and nail when he told her he wanted a divorce from afar. When he returned for good, she had finally moved on and started a romance with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), a mild-mannered high school English teacher, and was determined to stay happy with him.
But then Julian Jerome (William deVry) stupidly took orders from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and managed to blow up The Floating Rib while people were still there, killing Dustin and injuring Lulu. At first, Lulu seemed ok but just as she realized she still loved Dante and was about to tell him, she passed out and still hasn’t awakened.
Since then, Lulu has lingered in a coma outside Port Charles and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) moved on with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Why Lulu needed to go was beyond us, and stunned actress Emme Rylan as well, but at least she wasn’t killed. That means she has to come back one day, right? So, why not now?
GH Spoilers – The Perfect Soap Opera Formula
GH needs to be a soap opera and finally have Lulu emerge from her coma now that Dante and Sam are so boringly happy they put us to sleep. If the show thinks this new character named Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is the one to shake things up for Sante, then it is sorely mistaken. He is a character who came out of nowhere and makes no sense to the story. Having a history with Dante when they were 12 doesn’t make for a compelling story steeped in history.
Dante and Lulu share a long history together that wasn’t just two months or so 30 years ago. They had a marriage, and a home, and we’re raising children together after fighting to be a couple for years. There is no reason not to have her wake up any day now and wonder what happened to the last two years of her life as her family has moved on. It will give Sam and Dante some real conflict and bring a legacy character back who never should have been written off, to begin with. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if Lulu ever returns.
