Why JaSam Is A Thing Of The Past On General Hospital

General Hospital seems all-in on Jason and Britt as evidenced by a very non-COVID love scene this week.

Jason (Steve Burton) seems to actually be in love with Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) while Britt doesn’t know what to feel. After all, she just learned she definitely has the marker for Huntington’s Disease and her life might turn out a lot different than she ever expected.

Try as they did, Steve Burton and Kelly Monaco couldn’t manage to find that same magic they had years ago when Burton first returned to the soap. Maybe too much time had passed or maybe Sam had changed too much. After all, she thought she was with Jason for two years already and had who she thought was Jason’s child, but Scout was Drew’s (Billy Miller) and Sam had wanted a different life.

At the time the real Jason returned, Sam and Drew (as Jason) were just starting Aurora to get away from the mob life. Sam thought Jason (it was Drew) had just been shot again and she couldn’t take it. She needed a safe life and to keep her children safe and never wanted to lose Jason again. Yes, when the real Jason returned she fell right back into that life, but it took even Sam a while to learn she had changed.

GH Spoilers – Sam McCall Will Always Be An Adventurer

Yes, Sam feels a bit left out right now especially after Carly (Laura Wright) had her followed and Jason told her to leave him alone because she is the one who ended things. However, she has to focus on her children. She may be torn and may always want Jason somewhere deep inside, but she also has to face that it’s over and it ended the night he went into the river in 2012.

It’s time for Sam to move on in the same way Jason has moved on. She made her choice and it may have even been the right choice. And Jason seems like a different man being with someone other than Sam and we like it. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this story plays out.
