Why Nelle Needs To Return To General Hospital ASAP

General Hospital led us on a years-long story wondering if Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) baby actually died when she was in a coma, and then even more years trying to find out who her daughter really was. While the audience learned it was Nelle (Chloe Lanier) before Nina did, having Nina learn who her daughter was when that character was already dead and gone left the story feeling flat.

Yes, Nina isn’t making herself any fans now if those fans were Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) fans and Nelle was horrible to Carly, so Carly fans didn’t like Nelle either. But if you like good character studies about flawed people, then Nina and Nelle can tell a compelling tale because there’s no denying that Carly is also a deeply flawed person.

Nina and Nelle need to have that mother-daughter confrontation we have been waiting for. After all, Nelle trusted Nina to deliver for her on the stand during Wiley’s custody hearing. While Nelle did not deserve custody of Wiley and Nina did say truthful things about her, Nelle is very much like Carly and likes deflecting responsibility for her actions and deflecting blame on others. So, Nelle will be pretty peeved to learn it was her own mother who betrayed her.

We also want to see Nina bond with her daughter and perhaps forge a relationship, with both women realizing how much they each screwed up their own lives.

GH Spoilers – Nina Reeves, Nelle Benson, And Ava Jerome Can Get Revenge On Carly  Corinthos

If you take a step back and realize that Carly insisted Ava (Maura West) didn’t deserve her baby, Nelle didn’t deserve her baby, and Nina didn’t deserve to know who her baby was, one can see Carly as someone who people might be angry at. The three women she tried to take motherhood from can plot to bring her down, which can be fascinating to watch indeed.

While Nelle was definitely sociopathic, she was also fun and fun is what General Hospital needs more of. You never knew what Nelle was going to do and she always kept a person guessing. Maybe it’s time to bring her back so we can guess some more. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if that ever happens.
