Will Rena Sofer Ever Return As General Hospital’s Lois Cerullo?

The Bold and the Beautiful’s loss could be General Hospital’s gain if Rena Sofer and the ABC soap were ever able to work things out.

Rena Sofer surprised all when she announced her departure from B&B this past week and that she had already taped her final scenes as Quinn Fuller on August 5. The actress said it was time to wrap up her run after nearly a decade and she knew when she signed her last contract that she would leave when it was up.

While working on B&B, Sofer became more and more interested in pottery and she would like to focus on that aspect of her life now that her younger daughter, Avalon, will be going off to college. She has an older daughter, Rosabel, with ex-husband Wally Kurth, who plays Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital (as well as Justin Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives). So, the question is now open. Would Sofer ever return to the ABC soap where she played Lois Cerullo?

GH Spoilers – Lois Cerullo Would Be A Welcome Sight

With Ned still in Port Charles and their daughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), in a strange romance with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), now is as good a time as any for Lois to take a ride up from Brooklyn and visit her old haunts in Upstate New York.

“Lois to this day is still one of my favorite characters I have ever helped create,” Sofer said in the August 30, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “I’ve spoken to General Hospital in the past about stepping back into Lois’ nails but the situation has never worked out. All the stars would have to be aligned for me to step back into that role — but if they did it would be a very exciting road in my journey moving forward.”

If Lois ever did return, she could certainly shake things up in PC, as well as Ned’s marriage to Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero). After a rough few years, Ned and Olivia are back on track so a little trouble in paradise would work right about now. She could also be there to try to talk Brook Lynn out of her crazy ideas — or just join right in. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if this can ever happen.
