Y&R Alum Rory Gibson Confirmed as General Hospital’s Michael Corinthos Recast

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Michael Corinthos is headed home, as fans witnessed him on a jet plane, glaring at his phone, watching a live feed from the 2025 Nurses Ball, during the Tuesday, May 20 episode.
Of course, his wife, Willow Tait-Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), was making out with the very reason their marriage broke up, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) – and it looks like Michael’s return will place a major damper on Drillow’s romance.
Still, fans didn’t “see” Michael’s face, and now a new report reveals that a recast is set to step into Michael’s shoes, and it’ll be actor Rory Gibson, former ‘Noah Newman’ from The Young and the Restless.
NuMichael Recast
According to Soaps.com, Gibson has officially been recast in the role; however, no airdate was given as to when fans should expect to see him on the canvas.
With that said, it’s safe to say that Gibson will likely debut as Michael Corinthos sometime this week, or possibly early next week.
Gibson played the Y&R’s Noah Newman from 2021-2023, ironically taking over from another General Hospital Michael Corinthos recast, Robert Adamson, who played Noah from 2012 to 2020.
Interestingly enough, Adamson launched the speculation surrounding a Michael recast when he hopped on X in early April and wrote how disappointed he was that he wasn’t asked to read for the part of Michael Corinthos
. After all, the actor had jumped into the part as a temporary recast multiple times in the past when the show needed him in a pinch.

No Chad Duell …
This recast news officially ends the speculation over whether or not Chad Duell would be returning to reprise his Michael Corinthos character, a role he played since 2010.
Unfortunately, due to some life changes, including becoming a father and losing his own father, Duell decided to take some time off for himself and his family. Since leaving the role in late 2024, Duell has lost 20 pounds and seems to be living his best life.

I think they could have done a better job on the recast. This kid would have made a better Lucas than Michael. I was really hoping this would give the casting office an opportunity to case someone who was more mature looking, and a little bit menacing looking for his inevitable face off with Drew and the up coming showdown with Sidwell. Instead we get an immature, wimpy looking replacement. Gonna be hard to take him serious when he looks like the high school debate captain…

I agree. I hoped for some other soap actors that were available but I guess I will just live with the results. I hope he returns a darker, stronger Michael that is not open to any foolishness from Willow and will take Drew down hard.
The photo of this guy who supposedly is the recast for Chad Duell, already shows if it’s not Chad, then it definitely should not be this loser. He doesn’t have the charisma Chad has.
He has not been confirmed by GH. Not buying it until officially confirmed by the show.
