Great American Family star Candace has starred in two 2024 holiday movies this year. However, she is already looking ahead to her next Christmas movie. Meanwhile, she told the Hollywood Reporter she wants to make a sequel to Home Sweet Christmas with Mathison. Speaking of the General Hospital star, she said that “Cameron is one of those people” who she wants to collaborate with again, adding:
I don’t even know if I’ve ever repeated a costar because I like to work with new people, and I like to bring fresh faces to our channel as well. But Cameron and I actually paired so well together, so we are actually considering doing a sequel to this movie. The fans really enjoyed it.
Meanwhile, Candace said she does read a lot of scripts for the holidays “all year long” and is concerned about finding the right one for Great American family. However, while sharing her hopes, she didn’t mention if there is already a script for the sequel to Home Sweet Christmas.
Candace and Cameron are friends
Fuller House star Bure has starred in many Christmas movies over the years, but Home Sweet Christmas was her first to lead with Mathison. She did admit they have tried to work together for some time. Candace mentioned that she loves the idea of old friends turning to lovers, as it was perfect for them, saying:
That feels very much like Cameron and me, and we’ve been friends for a really long time but never worked together.
Meanwhile, she and Cameron were first set to make the movie Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. However, when looking at the production elements she realized it wasn’t the right fit.
However, when she read and reread Home Sweet Christmas she knew it was the one. Hopefully, for fans, Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison will star in a sequel to that popular Christmas movie.
