Great American Family has announced a new, original holiday movie, A Little Women’s Christmas. This modern take on Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel, Little Women, and famously stars Trevor Donovan, Jen Lilley, Jillian Murray and more. Meanwhile, When Calls the Heart co-creator, Brian Bird serves as an executive producer along with his son, Taylor Bird, while Dione Sheehan penned the script.
About A Little Women’s Christmas on Great American Family
As noted by Variety, Little Women’s Christmas is based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel, Little Women which focuses on the culture of young women, their hopes, dreams and ambitions.
While little detail about the synopsis is currently available, the movie is a modern retelling of the March sisters and their love stories in a small town in Tennessee. Meanwhile, the movie takes place during the Christmas holidays.
As for the cast, Variety notes that Great American Family has formed an ensemble cast. Jillian Murray plays the role of Jo March, while former Hallmark star, Trevor Donovan plays Friedrich “Fritz” Baehr. Meanwhile, Laura Osnes portrays Beth March, Jen Lilley places Meg Marsh and Jesse Hutch plays the role of John Brooks.
Good news for fans is that Gladys Knight also features in the movie where she will perform her Christmas song, Joy.

A Little Women’s Christmas is a new Christmas classic in the making, with an incredible ensemble cast and an adaptation of an original story that is one of the best I have read.
Meanwhile, When Calls the Heart co-creator, Brian Bird executive-produces the movie. Moreover, this isn’t anything new, as Bird has worked with Trevor Donovan and his son Taylor before. They previously worked with Trevor and Rachel Boston in the movie The Engagement Plot.
When will A Little Women’s Christmas premiere?
Airing during the Great American Christmas programming event, this movie will join the schedule along with Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison’s holiday movie, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. However, the exact premiere date has yet to be reported.
