Speaking of the latter series, Tupper told Digital Journal that he loved the show, adding “I wish they had done another season.”
Meanwhile, James also starred as Nathan Carlson in Big Little Lies, which he said was “great,” adding:
I hope they do a third season. Being on that show was like being at the halftime at the NBA finals. Everyone in that room was so talented. My family at home couldn’t believe I was working with Meryl Streep.
About his latest project, Fall Into Winter
Tupper’s latest project, Fall Into Winter sees him starring opposite Lori Loughlin. The movie is set to premiere on Saturday, January 28 on Great American Family. Speaking of his new movie, James said:
It was wonderful. Lori was incredible to work with, and she is as sweet as they come.
This is my first film with Great American Family. I’ve known Bill Abbott because he used to run Hallmark, he is a really wonderful guy.
In the movie, life changes for Kerry (Loughlin) when she has to work alongside her high school nemesis, Brooks (James Tupper), an old friend of her brother’s who unexpectedly buys into her family-owned candy store.
Speaking of the movie, Tupper said his character, Brooks, has been burned in the past as he had believed in a woman and it didn’t work out. His character decides to run a small business, a chocolate shop, adding:
It turns out that the chocolate is very delicious but even more wonderful than that is the woman that runs it.
James Tupper’s motivations as an actor
When asked about his daily motivations as an actor, Tupper said it is about believing in a world that you create, adding: “that has always been a fascinating thing for me,” adding:
You see Robert De Niro and he just disappears right into a character, and he is complete gone, and the idea of doing that is really fascinating. It’s not your mental brain that is doing it, it’s an instinct inside of you and you are just becoming that person.
Meanwhile, James spoke to young, aspiring actors, saying, “You really need to study, train, and you need to work hard. You need to take classes and you need to put in the work. Never retire and never give up,” he added.
