The latest adaptation of best-selling author Karen Kingsbury is Someone Like You, set to premiere on Great American Family. Kingsbury has authored many novels and short stories and this is one of her most popular novels to be adapted for TV. Meanwhile, not only did she author the book, she is making the movie herself.

About Someone Like You

Someone Like You tells a love story with redemptive themes of family reconciliation, sacrifice, and beauty from tragedy, themes that often are the heart of works by Kingsbury.

The story follows architect Dawson Gage (Jake Allyn), who falls in love with London Quinn (Sarah Fisher) in high school, despite her protests. A decade later, Dawson and London remain best friends.

However, suddenly, tragedy strikes, leading Dawson to embark on a final, selfless mission for London: Finding her secret twin sister, Andi Allen (also played by Sarah Fisher). The twins were separated as embryos and must confront their own journeys of love, loss and discovery.

Jake Allyn (Dawson Gage) is known for his role as Ryan Taylor on The Baxters, a series also based on Kingsbury’s work. Moreover, he is known for roles in Ride, Mayans M.C. and NCIS.

Lynn Collins (Louise Quinn) is known for several regular or guest-starring roles on shows like Bosch, Manhunt and The Walking Dead. Meanwhile, Scott Reeves (Larry Quinn) is likely best known for his role as Steven Webber on General Hospital. Moreover, other credits include Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, Ride and The Resident.
