Back on Dog Day on August 26, 2024, Great American Family excited their viewers by announcing the return of the Great American Rescue Bowl in 2025.
Now, we edge closer to the third annual event, to be broadcast on Super Bowl Sunday (February 9, 2025), we have more details. The event is held in partnership with the North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization.
About the Great American Rescue Bowl 2025
The Great American Rescue Bowl was formerly known as The Kitten Bowl and previously aired on Hallmark Channel. When Hallmark officially dropped the event in 2022, former boss Bill Abbott snapped up the event and aired its first Rescue Bowl in 2023. Now, we can get excited about what is coming to this year’s Rescue Bowl.
Formerly dubbed The Kitten Bowl, the Great American Rescue Bowl is a cat- and dog-filled celebration with the cutest animals looking for their fur-ever homes. During the two-hour event, viewers will see adult dogs and cats, together with puppies and kittens, playing on a football-themed stage.

Between the major events, the event features heartwarming stories of pet lives saved through fostering and adoption.
Aim of the Rescue Bowl
The Great American Rescue Bowl is aimed at raising awareness of pet adoption and to reveal the beautiful dogs and cats available in shelters across the country right now.
