Set in July 1895, at a time when the New York elite had decamped to Newport, Rhode Island for a summer of balls, garden parties and yacht races. She decides to take matters into her own hands and sets out to prove her half-brother’s innocence while discovering that Goddard has more than his fair share of enemies.

As her investigations continue, she is plunged into a world of intrigue and danger, while attracting the attention of the town’s new mysterious stranger (Witte). Meanwhile, as Emma gets closer to the truth, Goddard’s true murderer goes on the offensive, willing to stop at nothing to keep their identity a secret.

I love this book series so much! It means a lot, especially as a local, to see my state’s history represented. I love Emma and can’t wait to see her come to life. I hope this production does justice to the book.

I love this series and have read every book. Looking forward to Feb 2 to see Emma come to life. Wish it could have been filmed in Newport since it would be so interesting to see these mansions. Hopefully this will be a good promotion for the tourist industry in Newport and give us a chance to see the other mansions as the series goes on.
