Alison Sweeney On The Wedding Veil Journey Coming To Hallmark Channel

The much-anticipated third movie in Hallmark Channel’s second The Wedding Veil trilogy is coming this weekend. While Hallmark has been quiet about the movie, its lead star, Alison Sweeney recently spoke up about the third movie, The Wedding Veil Journey which she leads with Victor Webster.

The three main stars of The Wedding Veil have once again had a movie dedicated to them in the second trilogy. Lacey Chabert’s movie, Expectations, aired two weeks ago, while Autumn Reeser’s movie Inspiration premiered last weekend. As with the first trilogy, each film features one couple’s journey, while also featuring the other best friends along the way.

Saturday’s movie, The Wedding Veil Journey, is the turn of Alison Sweeney’s character, Tracy, along with her now-husband, Nick (Webster). According to the official synopsis, Tracy is now the head of the auction house. Meanwhile, Nick’s restaurant is such a success, he is seriously thinking of expanding. The only problem with the couple’s amazing success is that it gives them little time to see each other.

While their previous movie featured their beautiful wedding, The Wedding Veil Journey will see Tracy and Nick finally agreeing to make time for their long-overdue honeymoon. However, when a travel delay causes them to lose their hotel room, the couple gets an amazing opportunity. In fact, Tracy and Nick get the chance to stay on a nearby remote island. This leads to the question, is the veil once again working its magic and bringing the couple exactly where they need to be?

Alison Sweeney on the movie trilogy

Lead actress Alison Sweeney recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the movie. When asked about her relationship with Lacey Chabert and Autumn Reeser, Alison said their screen friendship reminds her of her real-life close friendships. In fact, she said that she, Lacey and Autumn stayed in touch over the last year, saying:

We text and chat, sort of like our characters. When we see something that reminds us of each other, we send it along.

Meanwhile, when they are on the set, they have a great connection. Sweeney said it is fun to film together and have more emotional, deep scenes together than in the first three movies. Moreover, the second trilogy sees the characters get their moment to really figure out their lives.

Soap Opera Digest noted that usually, Hallmark movies end with the kiss, and “that is the happily ever after.” However, in The Wedding Veil trilogy, we get to see the couples again.

Sweeney responded by saying it was “such a different challenge to film a movie “after” the kiss. However, she and Victor were “kind of laughing about it the whole time, as this is so different for us!”

Meanwhile, she said that Lacey and Autumn made the same comments, adding that it is funny what a difference it makes. Alison also mentioned that fans talk about the trilogy all the time, wanting to see what happens after they fall in love and get married.

Speaking of her latest movie, Alison was asked where we find Tracy and Nick in The Wedding Veil Journey. As noted in the official plot above, Sweeney said that Nick and Tracy have busy lives and have “kind of gotten into a routine. She said that this is the jumping point for the movie, adding that it is really relatable.

As they never went on honeymoon, they agree that this might just be the break they need, and off they go.

But, of course, along the way there are plenty of surprises. Victor and I got so lucky on this one!

Alison explains that when she first read the script, she saw their characters were going on their honeymoon. She said she was so excited, as she had never been on a location shoot like this before, saying, “I just couldn’t believe it was really happening.”

Meanwhile, Alison and Victor spent two weeks filming on this beautiful island in Greece, adding that it was just so beautiful and fun. and such an adventure.

Hallmark Channel has yet to reveal images and a trailer for The Wedding Veil Journey, but we will share them as soon as possible.

When does the movie premiere?

In the meanwhile, the movie premieres on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 8 pm ET on Hallmark Channel.
