For Love and Honey on Hallmark Channel
According to the official synopsis, Austen (Walker) is an American archeologist following a lead in Malta, while hoping to secure a project that will guarantee his tenure. Meanwhile, Eva (Clunie) is a local Maltese beekeeper, following in her late mother’s footsteps in running her family’s apiary.
Meanwhile, a “bee-mergency” leads Eva to the local library where she and Austen discover that the location where the hive is hiding might hold clues to a major local archaeological mystery. While Austen is convinced of the find’s importance, the bees are nationally protected. This means that he can only continue studying the location under Eva’s watch.
While Eva is initially reluctant to help Austen – who has demonstrated an aversion to bees – her knowledge of the island turns out to be exactly what Austen needs to research the new find. Meanwhile, as Eva helps Austen, he gains a new appreciation for the ecological and cultural significance of the bees she has devoted her life to. While they begin to fall in love, it turns out the biggest thing standing in their way might just be history.
