Jordan Fisher is the latest Broadway star to film a Hallmark movie and he hopes the trend will continue.
Hallmark Channel has featured many Broadway stars and the latest is Jordan Fisher, who recently starred in the holiday movie, The 5-Year Christmas Party.
The actor has previously starred in several Broadway shows, including Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen and his current role in Hadestown.
Meanwhile, Fisher’s experience in filming the new Countdown to Christmas 2024 movie has made him realize he would also love to continue being a Hallmark star.
Jordan Fisher on starring in Hallmark’s The 5-Year Christmas Party
The 5-Year Christmas Party is a rom-com that premiered late October as part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas 2024 lineup. Fisher starred alongside Sealed With a List star Katie Findlay as former theater school rivals who “reunite each holiday season to work at a Chicago catering company’s Christmas parties.”
The movie was filmed in the spring of 2024 in Vancouver, Canada and Jordan dubbed the shoot “three weeks of too much fun” in an Instagram post by director Peter Benson. Meanwhile, in an interview with People, Fisher called it a “dream scenario,” adding that he would love to star in more Hallmark movies.
Jordan Fisher’s acting career
Besides his success on Broadway, Jordan is also known for his TV appearances. According to IMDb, this includes the CW series The Flash, Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie and the Netflix rom-com To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.
Meanwhile, Fisher explained to People that he had only heard positive things from friends who starred in Hallmark movies, and the experience lived up to his expectations, saying:
You know I’ve heard (stories) from a handful of friends, colleagues that had worked on these Hallmark movies, and they’re like, ‘Dude, you are going to love it.’ It’s so laid back.
I got to be a part of that this year, and I loved it. I loved every bit of it. I would do it again, time and time again.
A family-friendly atmosphere
Among the things Fisher loved about filming The 5-Year Christmas Party was the family-friend atmosphere. He backed this up by saying he was able to bring his wife, Ellie Woods, and their two-year-old son, Riley to the shoot in Vancouver, saying:
I literally got to block a scene holding my son and let him run off and play with mom while I was working. It just was, I think, kind of a dream scenario as a working actor, and also a father and a family man.
Readers who missed The 5-Year Christmas Party the first time around will get the chance as the movie is scheduled to re-air on December 14 and 24 on Hallmark Channel.
