Cameron Mathison Officially Jumps Ship From Hallmark

Cameron Mathison is taking the steps to move away from Hallmark Media. He shocked fans when he announced his departure from the network. Cameron signed a contract with Great American Media.

He also made it clear that it wouldn’t take time away from his acting gig on General Hospital. Cameron made another announcement that shocked fans. He’s teaming up with fellow former Hallmark Channel star Candace Cameron Bure for a new Christmas film. Keep on reading to learn more.

On Tuesday, July 9, Cameron Mathison took to Instagram to announce his new film. He also posted a screenshot of the press release. Great American Media has been rolling out their holiday films.

” MORE FESTIVE NEWS: @candacecbure & @cameronmathison will star in a new original holiday film, #JingleBellsWeddingBells, premiering in November as part of #GreatAmericanChristmas 2024,” Cameron captioned the post.

Many GAF stars commented on the post. Danica McKellar wrote: “Yay!!! ❤️.” Candace also shared her approval. Both Cameron and Candace shared the same post on their respective Instagram Stories, along with festive holiday emojis.

Candace Cameron Bure made headlines when she became the first Hallmark star to leave the network and join Great American Family. She was part of the competitor network for 14 years. Candace explained the reason behind her departure in October 2022.

“GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family,” Candace explained. “Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about!”

Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells is their first project together. Cameron places Gracie, a wedding planner who makes other brides’ dreams come true. Cameron visits the Peachtree Inn, where Gracie works. He asks Gracie to create a perfect Christmas Eve wedding for his sister and future brother-in-law.

Gracie realizes she has a challenge ahead of her. Candace Cameron Bure will serve as executive producer alongside Eric Jarboe, Ford Englerth, Gerald Webb, Holly A. Hines, Jeffery Brooks, Paula Elle, and Trevor McWhinney.

Why Cameron Mathison Left Hallmark Media

Cameron Mathison also explained his departure from Hallmark Media. He landed a multi-picture deal with GAM, which he couldn’t turn down. Not only does Cameron star in the films, but he produces them as well.

“It is very improtant to me to create well-crafted, beautiful stories,” Cameron shared. “I am grateful to be back at Great American Media and to collaborate with some of the best creative teams in entertainment to make heartwarming content everyone can enjoy.”

Both Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison were fixtures at the Hallmark Channel. He also hosted the daytime talk show, Home & Family, for nine seasons before its surprising cancellation in 2019.     Thats disappointing. I have never or will never watch the other station. I love Hallmark and will never leave. It’s nice they want awesome TV but that’s silly. The world isn’t made that way anymore.
