Say it isn’t so! Hallmark Channel Chesapeake Shores will be without one less heartthrob as the show is losing its leading man, Jesse Metcalfe, as he just announced that he will be leaving the show in its upcoming season. Here’s what you need to know.
Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Spoilers – Jesse Metcalfe Announces He’s Leaving The Show
Jesse, who also played Miguel on Passions, will be focusing on future projects. A rep for the show told Deadline, “A new season of Hallmark Channel’s highly popular scripted series Chesapeake Shores is returning this summer. Jesse Metcalfe, who plays Trace Riley, has decided to leave the show.”
Jesse is currently in Canada and set to film Trace’s final scenes as the series begins production again. Chesapeake Shores Season 5 was ordered last summer and will consist of 10 episodes and is expected to return to its regular Sunday night time slot when it returns to the small screen. The series is about a career woman by the name of Abby O’Brien and the new life that she has made out for herself in Chesapeake Shores after returning from New York City.
Thankfully for fans who are still hoping to see him on the small screen Jesse will continue to work on multiple projects with the Hallmark Channel. Some of them include original movies on Hallmark Channel, as well as his Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ movie series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries. The next installment of Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries will premiere on May 16th.

Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Spoilers – What’s Next For Jesse Metcalfe?
While Jesse is certainly a very busy actor, back in October he said that there is one more title that he would love to add to his resume: reality television star. Jesse said he wouldn’t mind dipping his toes in the reality television world in the future, whether it would be a competition show like Dancing With The Stars, which he performed on for Season 29, or something of another format.
However, if there’s one thing he’s willing not to do, it’s get personal. Jesse says that there’s a fine line between his professional life and his personal life, especially in front of the cameras. Watch this space as we have a feeling that we will be hearing more from Jesse in the coming weeks and months ahead.

Yes I am, I thought that eventually Trace and Abbey would really get together and he would do his music at the club that he made with the time.
