Chesapeake Shores season 5 spoilers reveal that there is a new showrunner for the Hallmark television series. According to Deadline, Emmy winner Pheof Sutton has taken the reins. If that name sounds familiar, he has worked on Terriers and Cheers. Michelle Vicary, EVP of Programming issued a statement on the change,

“We are thrilled to bring back Chesapeake Shores for a long-awaited fifth season with Phoef Sutton’s brilliant voice leading this new chapter for the O’Brien family.”

Sutton also had something to say about him joining the series as the new showrunner.

“Throughout my career, I’ve sought out shows with truly character-driven storytelling, where the drama or the humor comes from everyday moments. I’ve been a longtime fan of Chesapeake Shores for that reason. The O’Briens are a television family you look forward to spending time with and a huge part of that is the chemistry of its talented cast. I’m looking forward to working with them and, together, producing an exciting new season for viewers to enjoy.”

The 10-episode season has a premiere date. Fans don’t have that much longer to wait to follow the multi-generational family of women. The Hallmark Channel will premiere the fifth season on Sunday, August 15.

Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Spoilers – Robert Buckley Joins Cast

One of the most exciting developments that was reported is the addition of a new cast member. Robert Buckley is confirmed to be part of the Chesapeake Shores family. The casting addition comes just one month after Jesse Metcalfe announced he is leaving the show. He will appear in the first few episodes, but his exit will come early in season 5.

Buckley will join Treat Williams, Meghan Ory, Diane Ladd, Emilie Ullerup, Brendan Penny, Barbara Niven, Laci J. Mailey, and Andrew Francis.

Chesapeake Shores Spoilers – Casting Addition Statement

In addition to talking about the new showrunner, Vicary also issued a statement regarding Buckley joining the cast. She said,

“As for Robert Buckley joining the cast, he has been part of the Hallmark family for years, most recently he starred in and produced The Christmas House, and I know that the show’s fans will thoroughly embrace him in this new role.”
