Airing as part of the popular Countdown to Christmas programming event, Hallmark Channel honors first responders in the new, original movie, Christmas on Call. The movie famously stars Sara Canning, Ser’Derius Blain and Donna Kelce, her second Christmas movie this year.
Christmas on Call on Hallmark Channel
As noted in the official synopsis, Hannah Michaels (Sara Canning) is an emergency room doctor, who is seeing EMT Wes Sullivan (Blain). Meanwhile, it’s Christmas time and Wes to determined to show Hannah all the sights, sounds and tastes of Philadelphia. Among those tastes is the famous Philly Cheesesteak.
The more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow for each other. However, even though it is Christmas, they don’t get extra days off to celebrate the holidays as first responders. However, they balance the demands of their jobs and support each other, finding moments of joy.

Looking at the lead actors, Sara Canning, who plays Hannah has previously starred in A Series of Unfortunate Events and War for the Planet of the Apes. Meanwhile, Ser’Derius Blain plays Wes and is known for his roles in Will Trent and Til Death Do Us Part.
Donna Kelce may be Travis Kelce’s mom, but is also famous in her own right as she stars in another Christmas movie this year, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. In this movie, she serves up an authentic Philly Cheesesteak.
Other uncredited cast members include Monique Marcker (With Wings), Reena Jolly (Channel Zero, Don’t Even) and Erik Athavale (Acting Good, All Fun and Games). Meanwhile, Juliette Schroeder (A Carol for Two, Finally Caught), Isla Verot (The Magic of Lemon Drops, The Holiday Shift), Meagan Brisebois (Wintertide, Heartland Homicide) and Paul Essiembre (The Ice Road, Nobody) also star.
When does Christmas On Call premiere on Hallmark Channel?
Christmas on Call is set to premiere on Friday, November 22, at 8 pm ET/PT on the Hallmark Channel as part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas programming event. Meanwhile, the movie can be watched on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere.
