Cobra Kai Star Martin Kove On His Hallmark Role In A Taste Of Love

Actor Martin Kove is known for his roles in Cobra Kai and The Karate Kid but is now in a starring role in a new Hallmark movie. Kove stars alongside Erin Cahill and Jesse Kove in A Taste of Love.

Meanwhile, the film tells the story of a chef who decides to spice up her culinary dreams. Martin was interviewed about his new role and how much he enjoyed the process.

Currently, Martin Kove is filming season 6 of Cobra Kai but spared some time to talk with Digital Journal about his latest project. In the Hallmark movie, A Taste of Love, Erin Cahill plays a chef named Taylor who needs inspiration, and connects with her childhood crush, Jacob (Jesse Kove). Meanwhile, she is considering whether to renew her cooking show contract.

While back in her hometown, Jacob inspires Taylor to enter a local cooking competition. Meanwhile, Martin Kove plays the role of Glenn, Taylor’s father.

If readers are wondering why there are two Koves in the movie, it turns out one of the movie’s producers, Lincoln Lageson, brought Martin and his son Jesse into the project. “He takes great care of the actors,” Martin added, saying, “It was a win-win all around.”

About the Hallmark movie

Speaking of the movie, which is directed and written by Michael E. Brown and Conrad De La Torres, Kove added:

We have this new Hallmark movie coming out on Monday, February 19, and it’s a good thing. We have a lot of action.

When asked about being a part of the Hallmark movie, he said, “It was a marvelous experience. We had a lovely time. We shot it in Florida, and I hope we can make more movies in Florida. I enjoy doing these departure roles.”

“I cried from beginning to end each time I’ve seen it,” he confessed about the movie.

Martin explained that there is something about the two leads in a movie having a little love affair when they are young, then reuniting years later. He added he “got so choked up” knowing that this could happen, saying, “I think people will understand the potential of that happening to them.”

A Taste of Love premieres on President’s Day, Monday, February 19 at 8 pm ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
