The Hallmark Channel is renowned for its feel-good movies, especially around Christmas, but it is also known for its drama series When Calls the Heart. With season 10 coming soon, and season 11 already confirmed, Erin Krakow has credited Hearties for the continuation of the feel-good show. Read on to find out what the actress that plays Elizabeth Thornton has to say to her many fans.
When Calls the Heart and Erin Krakow
Based on the novels by Janette Oke, When Calls the Heart follows the story of Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), a schoolteacher living in the town of Hope Valley in the 1900s. Throughout the seasons, Thornton faces love and loss along with her fellow townspeople. Confirmed for an eleventh season, the show’s positivity resonates with fans.
Meanwhile, Krakow doesn’t take her fanbase for granted. In fact, she credits Hearties for keeping the show going as it heads for season 11. As When Calls the Heart season 10 approaches, Krakow showed her gratitude for her fans and for the Hallmark Channel as a whole. She recently told TV Insider:
I continue to feel so proud to be a part of ‘When Calls the Heart’ and grateful that the Hearties have kept us on the air all these years, that Hallmark continues to believe in our show. Season one, I think, we filmed in 2013; it aired in 2014. It was a long time ago. And the show has changed and grown a lot since then. But looking back, I just feel a lot of pride to be a part of it.
When Calls the Heart’s loyal fanbase
While season 10 has yet to premiere on Hallmark Channel, the network has already renewed When Calls the Heart for an eleventh season. Meanwhile, Hearties are not only devoted fans but are vocal about their favorite series.
Readers will recall the long lead-up of two lead characters, Lucas (Chris McNally) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) in the famous love triangle with Elizabeth. Some fans rooted for Lucas, and others for Nathan as they courted the beautiful school teacher. Meanwhile, at the end of season eight, Elizabeth chooses Lucas over Nathan.
Hearties took to social media in their thousands giving their opinions on Elizabeth’s choice. Many were thrilled that she and Nathan were a couple. However, others vented on her choice, with some even threatening to stop watching the series.
Despite some fans’ negativity, plenty of Hearties have stuck around. In fact, while waiting for news about season 10 in 2022, fans once again took to social media with the hashtag #AllInForSeason10.
Hallmark renews the series for season 11
Now, of course, Hearties are looking forward to season 10 of When Calls the Heart, which premieres on July 30. However, that wasn’t the only good news fans received, as Hallmark also renewed the show for season 11.
At that time, Erin spoke with Variety, sharing her love for her fanbase and saying: “Having the Hearties continue this journey with us has meant the world and we are thrilled to share what’s in store these next two seasons.” Krakow added:
The uplifting nature of the show paired with the love and positivity in the storytelling makes for a very heartwarming television experience, and it’s only going to get bigger and better in Season 11.
As a reminder, When Calls the Heart season 10 premieres on July 30 on Hallmark Channel.
