Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home on Hallmark Mystery
According to the official synopsis, small-town life turns deadly for retired army doctor, Dr. Rachel Hunt (Amy Schull) who returns home. Rachel is a smart, intuitive family doctor and was previously a trauma surgeon in the US Army. However, after losing her husband in combat, she retired from her commission and is now settling into a quiet new life back home with her widowed father (Gerard Plunket) and her teenage twins, Chloe (Isla Crerar) and Matthew (Jett Klyne).
However, when her favorite patient, Ross Alexander (Greg Kean) dies shortly after she gave him a clean bill of health, Rachel cannot shake the feeling that there is more to the story. Meanwhile, her attempt to involve the authorities is met with resistance by charming police detective, Jack Quinn (Brendan Penny), who wants to help but is not convinced that this is anything more than a death by natural causes.
Rachel uses her background in military forensics to start an investigation into what could have led to the beloved newspaper editor’s death. Moreover, with the support from friends in the community, old and new, Rachel persuades Quinn to keep digging. However, when the search for the killer puts Rachel’s life in danger, she realizes that small-town life will not be anywhere near as quiet as she had planned.
