Good Witch James Denton Reunites With Desperate Housewives Co-Star In Hallmark Christmas Movie

The Hallmark Channel is reuniting Desperate Housewives co-stars, James Denton and Teri Hatcher in a brand new Christmas Movie. Titled A Kiss Before Christmas, this will be the first time the two actors have worked together since 2012. Meanwhile, Denton has more recently starred in the now-cancelled Hallmark series Good Witch. Read on to find out details of this new and exciting project.

James Denton, who also serves as a producer on the movie, first mentioned the project in August 2020 on the Hallmark Channel’s Bubbly Sesh Podcast. While fans assumed the film would be part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas programming event that year, it didn’t happen.

At the time, Denton said of the movie, “It’s a little bit like It’s A Wonderful Life… a little bit like Heaven Can Wait.” He said that from the beginning he has wanted the first Hallmark Christmas movie he produces to be unique.

“I had no idea that we’d be lucky enough to get Teri. We’ve always wanted to work together again, and we found the perfect vehicle for what I think is the first Desperate Housewives reunion. And since we’re on Hallmark, I don’t have to worry about getting shot at the end,” he joked.

Meanwhile, Teri Hatcher said that from the famous scene where James found her in the bushes, she knew they would be friends for life. She added, “The chemistry and friendship we had on Desperate Housewives is alive and well all these years later, and the loving, warm spirit of the holidays is the perfect backdrop for reuniting. It’s amazing to be back together. It’s just like old times. You won’t want to miss it.”

In the new Christmas movie, Denton plays Ethan Holt, a married father of two children. He is disappointed when he learns that he isn’t getting the promotion he was hoping for. While he laments the fact that his “nice guy” approach to business is holding him back in his career, he wishes his life had taken a different course. With a little Christmas magic, Ethan’s wish comes true.

Ethan is shocked the next morning to wake up and find he isn’t married to Joyce (Hatcher) and his children don’t exist. Meanwhile, he is, however, CEO of the company. It seems Joyce will be the key to Ethan getting back the life he knew and the family he loves. However, he has to convince her that they have a future – and a past – together.

Hallmark Channe – Cast And Premiere Date Of A Kiss Before Christmas

So far, it is known that James Denton and Teri Hatcher will play the leads in the film, but Marilu Henner is also on the cast in an as yet unknown role. The rest of the cast, and their roles, will be announced later.

As to the premiere date on the Hallmark Channel, nothing definite has been said as yet. However, CTV News reported in late September that the movie is currently filming in Winnipeg. We do know that the movie will feature in the Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas 2021.
