Great American Mysteries To Debut Candace Cameron Bure Mystery Movie

It seems that everything Hallmark does is swiftly mirrored by its biggest competitor, Great American Family. First, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries became simply Hallmark Mystery. Now, Great American Mysteries comes to life with Candace Cameron Bure at the helm and starring in a new movie.

Meanwhile, the new mystery movie is titled, The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker. Read on to find out more about Bure’s new mystery network and her new movie.

Candace Cameron Bure in Great American Mysteries movie

According to Deadline, former Hallmark actress Candace Cameron Bure is set to star in a new mystery movie, The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker. This movie is the first in the new Great American Mysteries brand and Bure will lead with Aaron Ashmore (Ginny & Georgia).

When announcing the news, Great American Media CEO (and former Hallmark boss) Bill Abbott was clearly excited about this latest addition to the brand, saying:

We are thrilled to be in the business of telling fun, light-hearted stories featuring great characters, strong stories, and a fun side of the mystery genre that fits perfectly with our licensed series strategy.

Meanwhile, the Full House star said, “There’s nothing more exciting for me than being back in the cozy mystery genre.”

Hallmark and Great American Family playing tag?

Of interest to note, this news comes when Hallmark plans to continue the Aurora Teagarden mystery movies, which used to star Bure. First, a prequel movie was released with Skyler Samuels playing a young Aurora. Now, as revealed by In Production, two more prequel Aurora Teagarden Mysteries are in the works.

So far, there is no official confirmation from Hallmark. However, it is interesting that this piece of news came out at the same time as the news of Great American Mysteries starring Bure.

About The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker

While there is only scant news about the plot of the new mystery movie, it is based on Candace Havens’ bestselling novel, Case for the Winemaker: An Addictive Small Town Whodunit Mystery.

In the story, Ainsley is a former Chicago criminologist who leaves the big city to return to her hometown of Sweet River, Texas. Once there, Ainsley opens Bless Your Arts, an artisan market for creators to sell their wares. However, she can’t fully give up solving crime and starts to teach a criminology class at the local community college.

Meanwhile, her criminology skills become a best asset after one of her friends, a local winemaker, is accused of murder.

Moreover, Bure is not only starring in the new Great American Mysteries movie, but is also serving as executive producer through her production company, Candy Rock Entertainment.
